The Event Recorder System, developed by Brigger & Associates, is software that logs changes in PLC digital conditions for future playback. These changes are called Events.

The Event Recorder is a great tool for PLC troubleshooting or just for getting a better understanding of the PLC system performance.

The Event Recorder Features:

◾ Changes in digital conditions are monitored during each PLC scan, so nothing is missed.

◾ The events are displayed in a spreadsheet format for a specified period.

◾ The events are displayed with very user-friendly features.

◾ Colors can be assigned to specific events to highlight them.

◾ Events can be assigned to groups so that only the events of a group are displayed.

◾ Events can be searched for.

◾ The number of occurrences over a period of time for specified events are displayed.

The Event Recorder consists of 3 software applications:

◼Event Collector

This is PLC logic that checks for changes in digital conditions on each PLC scan. It time and date stamps the changes and stores them temporarily

◼Event Logger

This is a Windows based PC program that reads the event data stored in the PLC and logs them to a database.

◼Event Viewer

This is a Windows based PC program that displays the event data in a user-frendly format with the features listed above.

◼The cost of the Event Recorder is $2,500, excluding any required taxes.

The Event Recorder is currently available for Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC's. Other PLC's are in the works.

◼ The Event Recorder is delivered on a USB flash drive with everything necessary to install the programs, including installation and user manuals.
